I have been through several AIB sites and could not find any place to express my absolute amazement at the inability of your staff to assist someone start an account with your Bank.Its as if you are just not interested in new money entering your system.Three times I approached your Raheny branch with a form filled out inorder to take advantage of an account that paid 4.1%.Fair playthe person there said that this acc. should normally be entered into through some other avenue but that we could open the acc, with them and they would send it on.I went with my I,D,A current bill and the application form.I was then told that I needed a sort code at some other bank to facilitate lodging the returns to on completion of the fixed term accounts term.Having explained that I did not need to lodge the returns elsewhere and would make do with the cheque being sent direct to me at home I was told that this could not be done.So off I went and got the sort code as requested and next day got on the queue again and asked for the third time if my application was now alright only to be told that as i wanted to open a dual acc, I would need my wife and her ID plus a bill releting to her.I can only say I was astounded that no one had pointed this out in my many visits to the counter in your branch in Raheny.This system mat be what you require but if someone presents with an application form and asks for it to be checked surely it would not be too much to explain what would be required after the first visit.Anyway the final chapter was acted out to day when my wife and I with all our necessary pieces of paper called to your branch in Sutton only to be told that this particular account could not be opened there and would have to be opened directly with AIB head office.If it is so difficult to set up an account face to face with someone I dont think I would have the stamina to try and open an account with you any other way.The cash I tried to invest with you is now earning a good return with Bank of Ireland Sutton after one visit of app,17 minutes.Regards Eamonn O Hanlon 22 Roseglen Rd,.
