Posted Friday, October 3rd, 2008

The station is located on Buckeye Road, off U.S. 395. Gas vehicles can use the ethanol mix and any diesel vehicle can run on the various mixes of biodiesel to be sold at the pump. Normal business hours will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The green service station was a dream of Minden business owner Don Bently, whose philosophy is to protect the environment by recycling and reusing materials, said Bently Biofuels general manager Carlo Luri last December. The station will be built “green” and sell healthy and environmentally conscious items, Luri said. “It’s been going well,” Luri said of the preparations to open. Bently Biofuels Company produces and sells biodiesel after recycling used restaurant oil at its plant off Buckeye Road. The fuel is nearly non-toxic and non-hazardous.

The company is no stranger to striking out in new directions. Since its founding in 1978 as a civil engineering firm of four, Summit has brought most construction-related functions in house rather than rely on subcontractors, says Gallagher. It’s even diversified into hydrology. Read full story:
